McKenzie, Our Smarty Pants

McKenzie made us a family. We were spoiled by what a good baby and toddler she was. She really has always been a good kid. She was such a serious baby soaking in everything and wanting to learn about anything and everything. She will ask me so many questions at times my brain hurts! Maybe it's a good thing she's a daddy's girl, I can always say, "I don't know, go ask Dad." McKenzie is always my little helper, and the best big sister to her younger siblings. She loves school, crafting, and fashion. She has her own sense of style and you can see it in all that she does. McKenzie has learned that getting money for gifts is cooler than an actual gift. She is very good at stretching her dollar by shopping around and shopping the sales. She is our little smarty pants!

Kaylee, Our Princess

Kaylee is our little princess. She lives in a world that I wish I could visit. Everything is PINK and magical and nothing is on a time table. Kaylee thinks Jim and I can fix anything. If it breaks she'll say, "That's okay, Dad can fix it. He's a worker." If it gets torn or stained she'll say, "That's okay, Mom can fix it." I wish we had the magical powers she thinks we have! I love these old photos of her in her eye patch. I am glad those days are over. Kids in the 1st grade are mean about those things. This fall she looks forward to getting contacts and being free of her glasses.

She is the best big sister, she has been practicing with her dolls since she was little. Hilton lights up when she gets home from school. She can always help me get him to eat that one last bite of the sweet peas.

Our Growing Hilton

These photos of Hilton make me smile. He is now eight months old and growing so fast. I forgot how bruised his little face was when he was born. Thank goodness he has grown into that nose. Sorry kid-you got your Mom's nose. If it wasn't for that nose, he would look like a mini Jim and nothing like me. If I knew he would only have one characteristic that looked like me, I wouldn't have chosen my nose! I think he's a cutie anyway. His personality is really coming out these days. In new surroundings, he is very serious taking everything in. At home, he loves to explore and laugh at his sisters and the silly "wrestling" time with Dad. Hilton is defintely a momma's boy. With the girls grown and no longer wanting to cuddle with me, I welcome my little buddy wanting to snuggle after bath and before bedtime. These days will only last so long.
